When it becomes too heavy for employees to load plastic sheets onto a milling machine, it is crucial to look for a suitable solution. As a supplier of customised lifting solutions, we like to look at the possibilities within our field with our customer. In this case, it concerns our customer Engels Logistiek, a company that supplies products in the service of logistics and a better environment.
The request
Engels Logistiek has two milling machines on which plastic sheets of 20 to 450 kg are loaded. Previously, this was done using a reach truck, but this became too heavy and irresponsible from a labour perspective. The need increased, so they approached us with this issue.
The process
After receiving Engels Logistiek's request, we contacted them for an on-site appointment. Internally, we discussed the customer's wishes and needs. During the on-site appointment, final details were discussed. A quotation was prepared and converted into an order. Our purchasing department put all the required materials to order. After delivery of these materials, we immediately started the preparatory work in the workshop, saving time on site. The assembly date was set, and assembly was carried out on site. From initial contact to assembly took about four months in total.
Result
In the end, we delivered a column slewing crane with a height of 4,190 mm and a length of 5,000 metres. This included a 400V electric hoist with a hand-operated trolley. Hanging in the hoist is an electric vacuum lifter.
